Debut win for promising daughter of Bel Esprit
A big group of owners were on track at Echuca yesterday for the winning debut of promising filly WHYOUASK.
The strapping daughter of Bel Esprit sat off the speed in a quality 2yo maiden over 1200m at Echuca on Monday, before balancing up nicely in the straight and proving too strong for the short priced favourite and prevailing by a length on the line. It was a beautifully timed ride from an inform Ryan Moloney and there looks to be plenty of upside for this big filly with a motor to match.
She has shown us enough at home to come to the races today and I expected her to run a nice race on debut Said a delighted Matt Laurie on course yesterday.
Not only does the Mornington trainer put the polish on Whyouask he also took on the tasks of saddling up and strapping the filly at a busy Monday meeting at Echuca.
The filly is owned by a big group of Matt Laurie Racing clients and off the back of yesterday's debut they look like having plenty of fun with Whyouask as the filly progresses through the winter months. And who knows, maybe the spring...
