Outstanding filly Treasurethe Moment wins the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes

Alabama Express filly Treasurethe Moment continued her dominance over Australia's 3yo fillies, capturing her second career Group 1 win with a strong victory in the Vinery Stud Stakes at Rosehill. Although run in her least favoured conditions to date, a soft-7 track was no match for her outstanding ability.

Damian Lane again provided a great ride, jumping well from barrier 5 and allowing outside runners to cross in front and subsequently taking a lovely sit in third position. Letting down in the straight she was too strong, winning by 1.22 lengths.

"She's been doing everything right every time she goes out on the racetrack," said Lane "It was a new challenge for her today; wet ground and Sydney leg and she just handled it with ease. She's just a star filly." When asked what she felt like to ride, he responded with "She's just push-button - she can adapt to all situations. She's a pleasure to ride and her attitude is so good and she's so honest. "

Matt too was glowing in his praise, "She's a dream horse. She'll learn a lot today - I think she got a little bit lost. She didn't really have that trail with nothing really there to follow, but when she got into it she was really good late. She's only going to be better for the experience."

It wasn't a perfect trip to Sydney though, "She lost a bit of weight on the way up" Matt explained, "and she wasn't completely settled but as we got deeper into the stay she got better and better."

Treasurethe Moment's autumn campaign will culminate with her next assignment on April 12th, tackling the time honoured classic, the Gr1 ATC Australian Oaks over 2400m.
