Riddle Me That wins the Bendigo Guineas

Up and coming 3yo Riddle Me That has combined with jockey Dan Stackhouse to take out the $150,000 Listed Jayco Bendigo Guineas over 1400 in a thrilling win for Matt Laurie Racing.

After an impressive 2nd placing in his previous start at Flemington over 1400m where he was trapped 3 wide without cover, it was no surprise that the tenacious son of Deep Field was able to go one better at Bendigo.

Dan Stackhouse provided a text-book ride settling 5th one off the rails. As the pressure went on approaching the turn they were positioned perfectly to chase down the leaders, hitting the line at just the right moment to score by a head.

Owners Tom Curnow of Aqua Trained Thoroughbreds and Lee & Carmel Powell have been long time supporters of Matt Laurie Racing, so winning a race of this calibre for them was especially pleasing. Tom also bred Riddle Me That from NZ mare Justine Coup, a daughter of Entrepreneur (GB) by Saddler's Wells.

Riddle Me That has now won 4 races from just 10 starts and amassed $184k in prizemoney. With more improvement to come, there's no doubt he has a bright future ahead.
